Accented Glory

Accented Glory is a handcrafted women’s fashion accessory brand with a specialty in natural hair accessories and Afrocentric jewelry designs.

Meet Tonya

Tonya is the visionary and accessory designer at Accented Glory. She launched the business in 2013 with the help of her three daughters Deseré, Cierra, and Gabrielle. Having noticed that hair accessories in stores were mostly marketed to younger girls and not natural hair-friendly, Tonya was inspired to create a brand that minimizes damage to textured hair, is comfortable to wear, and can endure the natural hair care regime.

Offering hair extensions, wigs, and accessory products at competitive prices to consumers, they strive to set an example of a business that serves their customers as well as the community at large.

Meet Stacia

Stacia's inspiration for starting her business began when she was still in elementary school as she would style her sister's hair, braid the hair of girls at church, and was often sought out by girls in the neighborhood for help with their hairstyles.

Years of learning increasingly advanced styling techniques and reading up on the ins and outs of running a business paid off in May 2019, when she was able to start A Beautiful U Beauty Supply. With plans of opening a storefront delayed because of COVID-19, Stacia has found success in pivoting to online retail and the beauty supply sector.

Call Number

Call Number is the library-inspired quarterly book subscription box that celebrates contemporary Black literature and authors of the African Diaspora. The meshing of two great loves, Black literature and libraries, Call Number began out of a desire to spotlight great books while recognizing the difficulties of finding literature by Black authors in an industry that often neglects writers of color.

My Beautiful Fluff

My Beautiful Fluff was created to encourage women to love themselves as they are, and accomodate curves and fluff with custom-cuts and size charts with sizes up to 5XL.

Meet Brittany

The idea for her business came to Brittany as a part of her natural hair journey. Mid-transition, she was looking for a way to embrace and show love for her natural hair through her clothing. In the search of a t-shirt with colorful afros, she found nothing cute went beyond 3X and figured if it didn't already exist, she'd just have to make it.

Since then, My Beautiful Fluff has pivoted to becoming a full line of fun clothing designed with curves in mind, with styles comfy enough to wear to the gym and nice enough to wear out for a night with the girls.
