WHAT DOES MY MEMBERSHIP INCLUDE?

As part of your Buy From A Black Woman Directory Membership, you'll receive the following:

  • discounts on tickets for any paid events hosted by Buy From A Black Woman 

  • opportunities to upload special promotions

  • access to grants offered exclusively to Directory Members

  • a separate page for your business on the Directory website with the ability to receive ratings and reviews

  • opportunities to write as guest blogger for the Buy From A Black Woman Directory blog, while promoting your business

  • the chance to be in community with other Black Woman Business Owners like you!

HOW LONG IS MY LISTING GOOD FOR?

Once added to the directory, your membership is good for 1 (one) year.

WHAT IS MY ANNUAL FEE USED FOR?

The Buy From A Black Woman Directory membership fee goes towards the housing and maintenance of the website, along with any promotional and marketing materials we use to spread the word about the directory. 

CAN I ADD MORE THAN 1 BUSINESS TO THE DIRECTORY?

Definitely! There is no limit to the number of businesses you can apply to have added to the Buy From A Black Woman directory. However, each business requires a separate application, logo, paid membership fee, and each will be considered independently of the other(s).

HOW DO I SUBMIT CHANGES TO AN EXISTING BUSINESS LISTING IN THE BFABW DIRECTORY?

HOW IS THE ORDER OF BUSINESSES IN THE DIRECTORY DETERMINED? IS THERE A WAY TO BOOST MY LISTING/ APPEAR ON THE FIRST PAGE?

We don’t like to play favorites, so the order of businesses is created randomly and refreshed every other Monday. 

HOW DO I GET FEATURED ON THE BFABW FACEBOOK/ INSTAGRAM/ TWITTER PAGE?

Free promo is one of the many perks we offer businesses listed in the BFABW Directory, there is no extra application or fee required to be featured. Our content calendar is created so that every business is featured at least once on the Directory Instagram account and on an episode of BFABWTV (IG Stories). This is bare minimum. However, additional opportunities to be featured are extended throughout the year that may require sign up or participation (for example: BFABW Awareness Month giveaways, Holiday Sales submissions, contributing posts to the Directory Blog, etc). If you are interested in being featured more often, keep an eye out for those promotion emails and submit!

CAN I LINK TO THE BFABW DIRECTORY ON MY WEBSITE/ SOCIAL MEDIA PAGE(S)?

Of course, please do!

CAN I SHARE A SCREENSHOT OF MY DIRECTORY LISTING ON MY WEBSITE/ BLOG/ SOCIAL MEDIA?

Yes! We get excited when you get excited about being a part of the Buy From A Black Woman Directory! You are more than welcome to share screenshots taken directly from the website. If you'd like a directory graphic with your business name added, please submit a request and we'll get it to you asap! For the usage of other images, please see the next FAQ item. 

CAN I USE THE BUY FROM A BLACK WOMAN LOGO ON MY WEBSITE/ CUSTOM GRAPHIC/ BUSINESS FLYER/ ETC?

Please don't. Reach out and let us know how you'd like to use the Buy From A Black Woman logo so that we can provide guidance. There's a whole legal side to logo usage.

DO MY REWARDS POINTS EXPIRE?

Nope! As long as you remain an active member of the Buy From A Black Woman Directory your points are good! 

I HAVE MULTIPLE BUSINESSES LISTED IN THE DIRECTORY, CAN I POOL MY POINTS?

Sure, you're welcome to pool points earned by any businesses for which you are listed as the owner.

HOW MANY POINTS DO I HAVE?

We'll send you points reports quarterly (March 31st, June 30, September 30, December 31st), but if you're ready to redeem and want an update now, request your points balance here: https://www.buyfromablackwomandirectory.org/rewards-program

HOW CAN I BE FEATURED AS A BLOG CONTRIBUTOR?

Submit your writing for the blog! We are always looking for writers and content that contribute to our mission to empower, educate, and inspire Black Woman Business Owners and the people who support them. We welcome any writing that focuses on topics relevant to the Buy From A Black Woman community including but not limited to branding, finance, current affairs, leadership, innovation, cultural affairs, health and wellness, work/life balance, fashion, and beauty.
